The D3 is Nikon's first full frame shooting DSLR camera. The camera has many high points like the great design. The camera has an improved design to fit with the times. The grip on this camera is great, dropping this camera isn't an option especially with how big it is. The display you get previews of all your pictures on is 3-inches. This camera has 12.1 megapixels, the camera shoots at 9 frames per second at the full 12 megapixels and 11 frames per second at about 5 megapixels. This camera doesn't comes with a flip up flash but this is camera is meant for professionals. The vertical grip on the body of this camera is a great feature but it does add weight to the camera, which without a lens weighs 2.7 pounds.
The resolution that this camera brings too the table isn't touching its competition the Canon EOS-1Ds Mark III and Sony's 24 megapixel DSLR camera. With the resolution difference aside this camera is still a good camera with great features. This camera (body only) costs $4,999. The price is steep but this camera isn't for someone who isn't a professional or enthusiast.
