Sony Alpha DSLR-A900

It’s no secret that the A900’s strong points are picture quality and dynamic range. The people at Sony really put together a great camera the has both speed and power. The A900 features a whooping 24 mega  pixels and a full-frame lens. The other features in this camera are just great like image stabilization and a VGA display on the back.

The A900 when equipped with a quality lens makes unmatched photo quality. The camera shoots at a 5 frames per second mind you that’s with 24 mega pixels. The camera is surprisingly fast for he amount of pixels you get with it. The controls on the A900 camera are pretty well laid out considering the amount of space there is on he camera.

There are a few things missing on the A900 that you can find in other DSLRs. The live view option is not included in this camera but the viewfinder is quite large so it shouldn’t be that big of a problem. Sony did put in a picture preview so that you can see what you just took a picture of. In the picture preview you can adjust things like black and white balance and other things.

The A900 offers the most mega pixels of any other DSLR that is 35mm. The amount of detail captured by the CMOS full-frame censor is amazing. However there wasn’t much difference in the pictures produced compared too the Canon 1Ds Mark III.  The A900 is Sony’s first attempt at a professional level DSLR and it shows this camera lacks some of the performance and usability of other cameras that are considered professional level cameras.

The Sony A900 is priced at $2,699. I would say this camera is a tad over priced if you looked at what Canon and Nikon have. However this is still a full-frame 24 mega pixel camera, so I recommend it if you can afford a quality lens too go with the camera.
