The Gold Canon PowerShot S100 and Black SX40 HS together.

Were you about to plunk down cash for a Canon PowerShot S95? How about the Canon PowerShot SX30 IS? Well don’t, Canon has announced that the successors (that are improved) are on the way for both of those digital cameras. For the S95 it will be succeeded by the Canon PowerShot S100, and the SX30 IS by the Canon PowerShot SX40 HS.

What’s getting improved with the S100 and SX40 HS cameras? Well for one the designs are noticeably different on the new models, for better or worse. Then there is the new 12.1 megapixel CMOS sensors being for each camera that allows for full HD (1920-by-1080) 1080p video recording (something the predecessors couldn’t do). Also there are improvements in the burst mode shooting for the two cameras, Canon has added High-speed Burst HQ that allows the S100 and SX40 HS to shoot up to 8 frames per second at full 12.1 megapixel image resolution.

Now aren’t those improvements worth waiting for? Though so. Canon has announced they’ll be launching the PowerShot S100 and SX40 HS in early November for MSRP $429.99 each. Below you can check out the main features for the two digital cameras, note that there are many other new features unmentioned above listed below.
